About the position

The Senior Project Coordinator for the Office of Prevention Science and Recovery (OPSR) at Middle Tennessee State University will play a crucial role in addressing the opioid epidemic through strategic coordination and collaboration with local organizations. This position involves overseeing core activities related to funding proposals, training, and data collection to support effective implementation of prevention and recovery initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Promote, review, and assist the County in vetting proposals and funding requests from county opioid funds.
• Provide expertise to organizations for best practices in implementation and create a detailed request for proposal application process.
• Establish eligibility criteria and assess application component completion for funding requests.
• Provide training for RCOB members on utilizing a scoring rubric for proposal evaluation.
• Collaborate on reporting metrics that align with state funding priorities and support meaningful data collection.
• Assist in coordinating administrative and fiscal requirements of the contract, including report development.
• Support the CHHS director and DSI team in fulfilling contract deliverables and further developing the OPSR.

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in public health, social work, sociology, psychology, education, or related fields.
• Two years of full-time work experience in a substance use disorder related role.
• General experience in substance use or opioid use disorder with knowledge of current conditions and best practices.
• Experience in organizing and facilitating meetings, delivering presentations, and writing reports.
• Experience with grant-funded work, grant-writing, and grant review processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of the Rutherford County community specific to substance use disorder and related social service programs.
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs for diverse stakeholders.
