About the position

The Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of and coordinating multiple projects to support various grants within the Office of Science and Technology, Office of Public Health, and Department-wide data-to-action programs. Specifically, the incumbent will lead coordination activities that are related to critical projects such as COVID-19 endemic, emerging health conditions, infectious diseases, and environmental surveillance. The incumbent will provide critical support for developing and implementing project structure, budget, operations, evaluation metrics, procedure manual, data collection and analyses, and reports. The incumbent will lead the coordination and implementation of specific data modernization initiatives across the Office of Science and Technology and other programs in the Office of Public Health, and Department. The incumbent will perform tasks related to supervision of staff and other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the coordination of multiple projects to support various grants.
  • Lead coordination activities related to critical projects such as COVID-19 endemic and emerging health conditions.
  • Provide support for developing and implementing project structure, budget, operations, evaluation metrics, and reports.
  • Lead the coordination and implementation of data modernization initiatives.
  • Supervise staff and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of project coordination or project management experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience.
  • At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff.
  • A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of project coordination or project management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Public Health or related field and three years of experience in public health research, surveillance, and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, database and statistical software, and interpretation of data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience communicating to various audiences in writing and verbally.
