About the position

The Senior Project Coordinator (SPC) at AdventHealth plays a crucial role within the Office of Design & Construction (ODC), working directly under the supervision of the ODC Project Manager Sr. II and Project Manager(s). This position is responsible for coordinating, expediting, and distributing project information, ensuring that changes in project priorities are communicated effectively with respect to schedule, performance, and budget. The SPC must possess a strong understanding of construction drawings and plans, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances. This role requires close collaboration with contractors, subcontractors, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle, emphasizing outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all stakeholders. The SPC is tasked with managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, supervising and evaluating the work of subcontractors, and frequently visiting job sites to ensure adherence to project specifications. This includes coordinating Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings to facilitate effective communication between OAC and Clinical/Operations staff. The SPC is also responsible for creating and maintaining organized project files that include all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance, as well as preparing materials for internal and external audits. In addition to these responsibilities, the SPC must read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, interfacing with contractors and hospital staff to ensure work is completed in accordance with departmental policies regarding utility interruptions, traffic control, and safety protocols. The role also involves managing the closeout and commissioning of buildings, which includes overseeing staff training, as-built drawings, warranty escrow, and ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements of contractors and architects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, expedite, and distribute project information including changes in project priorities with respect to schedule, performance, and budget.
  • Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and plans for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Work closely with and supervise all contractors, subcontractors, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and supervise the work of subcontractors.
  • Coordinate Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings to ensure effective information flow between OAC and Clinical/Operations staff.
  • Create and maintain accurate, organized, and complete project files for regulatory compliance and audits.
  • Interface with contractors and hospital staff to ensure work follows departmental policies on utility interruptions, traffic control, and safety.
  • Manage the closeout and commissioning of buildings, including staff training and compliance with contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of healthcare design and construction techniques, including building codes and construction practices.
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, and evaluate the work of contractors on mid-sized to large, complex healthcare projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts.
  • Leadership abilities with high standards of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
