About the position

The Senior Project Engineer/Geologist/Scientist will work in a dynamic environment, leading complex environmental remediation projects. This senior role involves project management, technical report preparation, and oversight of remedial actions, while also focusing on business development and staff mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of environmental remediation projects.
  • Preparing technical reports and overseeing remedial/removal actions.
  • Conducting field sampling and supervising soil and groundwater investigations.
  • Business development and proposal preparation.
  • Supervising personnel and assisting in staff development/mentoring.
  • Managing and preparing project proposals, including technical content.
  • Delegating tasks effectively and ensuring completion of work.
  • Developing expertise and reputation as a technical resource.
  • Managing client expectations and maintaining communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Reporting project status to management.
  • Serving as a senior technical manager and technical reviewer for reports.
  • Ensuring quality standards are met and taking ownership of assignments.
  • Executing field activities and maintaining documentation for project closure.
  • Forecasting personal utilization and notifying supervisors of availability.
  • Maintaining a professional image while interacting with clients.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in environmental, engineering, or water resource consulting.
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • 40-hour OSHA certification and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite Products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and technical staff.
  • Ability to write project work plans and safety plans.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to project sites.
  • Experience in managing and executing environmental/remediation construction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or chemistry.
  • M.S. degree.
  • P.E./P.G. and/or other professional certifications.
  • Demonstrated project management experience including operations start-up and close-out.
  • Experience in preparing technical content and cost information for project proposals.
