About the position

The Senior Project Engineer - Automation at ABB is responsible for serving as a design authority within the engineering discipline, overseeing multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. This role emphasizes cost-effective project execution while ensuring compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies. The position is hybrid and contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries division, focusing on delivering innovative solutions to customers and driving improvements based on feedback.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to shape and deliver solutions while seeking feedback to drive improvements.
• Create work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects, ensuring quality and timely implementation within targeted costs.
• Coordinate with relevant functions to ensure designs are appropriately manufactured, staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
• Coach engineering colleagues on translating conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering degree.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering, specifically with Distributed Control Systems.
• Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident of the USA.
