About the position

Martin/Martin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer specializing in civil engineering to join our Lakewood, CO office. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in master planning and conceptual design, which are critical components of our project initiation phase. You will also play a key role in fee determination and proposal preparation, ensuring that our bids are competitive and reflective of the quality we provide. Monitoring design budgets and project schedules will be a significant part of your responsibilities, as you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other design disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. You will manage multiple engineering projects from the start of design through to the completion of construction, ensuring that all aspects of the projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to manage and mentor a team of civil engineers and CAD technicians, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality outputs. Utilizing AutoCAD/Civil3D, you will design, detail, and coordinate medium to large-sized projects, adhering to time allotments and project budgets. Your role will also involve attending project meetings during both the design and construction phases, providing quality-control checks of work produced, and offering project construction administration support, including shop drawing reviews and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs). Furthermore, you will monitor project budgets and review or approve invoicing to clients, participating in collection and account receivable efforts as necessary. Flexibility in your schedule may be required, including working overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering project management.
  • Strong technical skills in civil design and project management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with environmental engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes in Colorado.
  • Previous experience in mentoring junior engineers.
