Hoyle Tanner has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Engineer in our Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME). This position is based out of any of our New England offices (Portsmouth, NH, Manchester, NH, Yarmouth, ME, Burlington, VT, Chelmsford, MA) and is a hybrid remote position opportunity. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will hold the lead role in an integrated civil team that solves technical project challenges of all types. You will work with Project Managers on the project budget, scope of services, project schedule, and project development. You will be a primary contributor or writer for the development of technical and price proposals. Monitoring and reviewing spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget will be part of your responsibilities, along with providing recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track. Understanding the client's organization and developing professional relationships with client peers is essential. You will lead the design for land development projects with tasks including site layout, grading, stormwater design, and utility design. Managing engineering staff and prioritizing technical tasks to meet changes in schedule or resource availability will be crucial. Proficiency in technical writing, editing, and presentations is expected. You will identify areas of improvement and regularly share best practices and/or improve processes. Additionally, you will develop person-hour estimates and budgets, act as a technical lead, and demonstrate a specialized skill in a subject matter and its application on relevant projects. Potentially, you may be the primary team member responsible for overall quality control of the project.
