GAI Consultants has a career-building opportunity for a Senior Project Civil Engineer within our Power Business Unit's Civil and Environmental Engineering Business Sector. GAI is an established and growing multi-discipline engineering firm with Florida offices in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Palm Beach Gardens. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible hybrid workplace and a sign-on bonus. This position can be based out of any of GAI's Florida offices. GAI's Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients. In this role, the Senior Project Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and facilitating civil engineering project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design, access road design, erosion and sediment pollution control design, stormwater management design, report preparation, and permitting. The engineer will perform technical and feasibility studies, collaborate with other professionals, and discuss requirements with team members. Utilizing computer programs, the engineer will develop detailed designs and ensure that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements. The role requires performing work with minimal guidance and supervision, handling complex issues, and mentoring less experienced staff. The position also involves adhering to safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients, as well as traveling to other offices, meeting with clients, and attending project-specific meetings. The physical requirements of this position include hiking moderate distances through unimproved terrain, utility rights-of-way, in remote areas, etc., in various temperatures and weather conditions. There is a possibility for potential hazards during fieldwork or site visit situations. Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design; access road design; erosion and sediment pollution control design; stormwater management design; report preparation; and permitting.
• Performs technical and feasibility studies.
• Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with team members.
• Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
• Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Performs work with minimal guidance and supervision.
• Handles complex issues and refers only the most complex issues to more experienced staff.
• Possesses strong working knowledge of civil engineering design tasks and a positive attitude.
• Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
• Performs moderate to complex civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
• Mentor, guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
• Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
• Adhere to the safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.
• Travel to other offices/meet with clients/attend project-specific meetings.
