About the position

The Senior Project Engineer - Electrical role at Kelly Services involves overseeing electrical design projects within various industries, including data centers and construction. The position requires collaboration with sales teams and customers to define project requirements, prepare designs, and ensure successful project execution. The engineer will also provide onsite support and training, ensuring that installations meet specifications and function correctly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project layouts and assist the sales team in preparing quotations based on customer demand.
  • Communicate with the sales team and customers to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables throughout the project life cycle.
  • Complete preliminary design calculations, layouts, and drawings for projects.
  • Prepare documents to communicate and refine the project concept with involved parties.
  • Determine appropriate products based on project specifications and prepare the bill of materials.
  • Write company-preferable specifications for potential projects.
  • Review all project specifications and ensure requirements are communicated and understood by other engineering/manufacturing disciplines.
  • Attend site meetings with customers to better understand project needs.
  • Prepare drawings and perform necessary calculations for field fit measurements after receipt of an order.
  • Work closely with the sales team to review customer-redlined quotations and drawings and provide direction on revisions.
  • Finalize specifications and quantities of all equipment purchased, place internal orders, and specify delivery timelines and milestones.
  • Monitor engineering schedules and communicate any potential impact to cost and cash flow.
  • Prepare and issue a complete and concise job file.
  • Complete and issue applicable contract specifications containing all pertinent information needed.
  • Lead and provide timely resolution for all internal technical issues.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all team members and stakeholders, fostering friendly relations within the group.
  • Provide onsite customer training around the installation, testing, and maintenance of company Busway.
  • Provide onsite technical support to contractors and installers to ensure correct installation.
  • Perform or train contractors on field measurements for field fit pieces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 8-12 years of electrical experience on construction projects, electrical equipment manufacturing, or similar.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, SAP, and MS Office programs.
