About the position

The position at HNTB involves leading the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for complex infrastructure projects. The role requires collaboration with project managers and team members to ensure successful project delivery while adhering to budget and schedule constraints. The candidate will leverage their technical expertise to address design-related issues and may also mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Use senior-level technical expertise to consider a broad range of engineering solutions.
• Responsible for discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership on complex engineering projects.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develop scope of work and manage adherence to scope and budget on complex engineering projects.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinate technical aspects of the project with client counterparts and teaming partners.
• Lead discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Assist with coordination and planning of schedules and distribution of work for other disciplines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or
• Master's degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge and quality work in multiple discipline projects.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and display accountability to the project team.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Engineering
• 10 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering
• Transportation Infrastructure experience
• Proficient in geotechnical analysis software
• Professional Engineer (PE) or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) depending on discipline.
