About the position

MSA has an opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer - Plumbing at any of our following Wisconsin offices: Milwaukee, Madison, Baraboo, Appleton, or Kiel on the Building Service Line. In this role, you will have the opportunity to see and contribute to projects from start to finish. The various projects you will be working on will make a significant and positive impact on the communities you serve. Your work will involve the design of plumbing systems, which includes performing calculations, creating layouts, sizing, selecting equipment, writing specifications, and coordinating with other disciplines. You will also be responsible for the design specification and layout of fire protection scope of work. Drawing development will be done using AutoCAD and Revit, and you will perform code reviews as well as shop drawing and submittal review and processing. Additionally, you will conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates, manage projects, and interact with clients. An important aspect of this role will be assisting with mentoring junior technicians and engineers, fostering their growth and development in the field. Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing systems including calculations, layouts, sizing, equipment selections, specifications, and coordination.
  • Design specification and layout for fire protection scope of work.
  • Develop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform code reviews and shop drawing and submittal review and processing.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Manage projects and interact with clients.
  • Assist with mentoring junior technicians and engineers.

Requirements

  • Master or Journey Plumber license required.
  • PE license required.
  • 6 or more years of prior commercial plumbing design experience as an engineering MEP consultant or plumbing contractor required.
  • Experience with architectural projects such as schools, municipal buildings, health care facilities, and commercial buildings preferred.
  • Prior experience coordinating a project from start to finish with both contractors and clients preferred.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Prior project management experience would be a plus.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.
