About the position

The Senior Project Engineer Strategic Portfolio at The Mosaic Company is responsible for managing high-ranking capital projects within the North America Business / Phosphate units. This role involves overseeing project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, supervision, and construction management, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company policies. The position requires close collaboration with various teams to support strategic business priorities and achieve project objectives, with a focus on safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic, time-sensitive capital projects for the North America Business / Phosphate units.
  • Oversee project execution and management including scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality.
  • Conduct safety observations and audits, ensuring safe execution of all capital projects.
  • Develop engineering work packages and manage engineering firms, reviewing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Group to develop procurement strategies and manage procurement activities.
  • Support site and company initiatives related to safety, environmental, regulatory, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical and personal development coaching to contractors and trades.
  • Travel as needed to support various project phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred).
  • 8+ years of related experience in industrial or chemical project execution or engineering project management.
  • Experience working with EPCM firms and third-party service providers on large capital projects.
  • Proven track record in supporting large capital projects from inception through construction and startup.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders on critical projects.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite, engineering software, SAP/Maximo, and Primavera P6.

Nice-to-haves

  • P.E. and/or PMP certifications.
  • Experience in capital project execution in petrochemical or Class I DIV II processes.
