About the position

The Senior Project Engineer at IPS will play a crucial role in supporting Project Managers and Project Directors by providing technical, administrative, and subcontractor management assistance. This position is focused on ensuring the successful execution of projects related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. The role involves developing project scopes, facilitating communication among project participants, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develops working knowledge of prime contract requirements and applies knowledge to project activities.
  • Coordinates review and approval from the Project Director and communicates this information to the project team.
  • Supports Project Managers and Project Directors in the development and maintenance of written project scopes of work.
  • Facilitates communication between project participants and produces documentation of communication between project participants.
  • Prepares proposals, presentations, and other sales and marketing documents.
  • Develops and maintains preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans.
  • Manages Punch List and completes close-out requirements and Turnover Documents (TOP's).
  • Pursues scheduling information from Subcontractors, vendors, and/or design professionals.
  • Develops a working knowledge of the project budget and identifies exposures to the project budget throughout the execution of the project.
  • Assists the Project Manager in managing change control systems and policies.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and supports quality assurance for the project.
  • Monitors design content and quality and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
  • Reviews all shop drawings and submittals to ensure conformance with the design prior to submission to the design professional.
  • Ensures that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Engineering, Project Delivery, or a related discipline.
