About the position

The Senior Project Engineer at GT's Living Foods plays a crucial role in providing technical leadership and oversight for projects within the manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial identification and development to execution and completion, ensuring adherence to design specifications and project deliverables. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare pre-project approval documents, including project management plans, estimates, milestone schedules, and project kick-off materials.
  • Monitor design progress to ensure adherence to project specifications and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the design team to receive detailed designs and manage bid package development, construction bidding, and field execution.
  • Select contractors and determine contracting methods based on engineering methodologies.
  • Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects.
  • Manage project scope and secure approvals for changes, maintaining alignment with engineering methodologies.
  • Manage and control project budgets, providing cost forecasts and cash flow projections through development of project cost and status reports monthly or as requested by project stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain project milestone schedules with integrated detailed scheduling as agreed upon in the project charter.
  • Monitor processes for compliance with quality and GMP requirements in accordance with FDA and OSHA regulations.
  • Provide construction management and plant startup assistance as needed to ensure successful project execution.
  • Evaluate, select, and issue contracts for construction firms through bidding and prequalification vetting processes.
  • Provide self-directed project management of assigned projects from end to end with minimal supervision from management.
  • Monitor work output from less senior engineers on the project team as assigned by management.
  • Provide technical support to operations as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as required by management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience managing projects in manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • AutoCAD experience.
