About the position

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing multiple capital projects within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role involves developing project scopes based on stakeholder business cases, ensuring adherence to cost management, schedules, contractor coordination, and site safety performance criteria throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept to completion.
• Estimate schedules and budgets to deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and participate in safety standards adherence.
• Apply knowledge of ASME Code Standards for Chemical Processing Equipment and Piping.
• Mentor maintenance personnel and unit operators in a union-represented environment.
• Conduct root cause analyses to identify and resolve problems.
• Ensure knowledge of environmental and industrial safety regulations related to chemical operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience leading capital projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in AutoCad and MS Project.
• Experience in project engineering and process design with quantified results.
• Knowledge and use of Root Cause Failure Analysis systems.
• Experience leading projects ranging from $25K to $5MM.
• Experience in writing technical specifications for vendors and preparing capital requests.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Ability to track project performance metrics (schedule, budget, performance).
