About the position

The Senior Project Engineer in Construction plays a crucial role in supporting project managers and estimators throughout the project lifecycle. This position involves preparing bid documents, procuring subcontractors and vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The engineer will also assist in maintaining contract files, preparing claims, and generating cost reports while adhering to internal policies during project execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-bid visits.
• Conduct material take-offs to support estimating activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotes for supplies and services.
• Facilitate permit applications with local authorities and environmental agencies.
• Ensure cleanliness and safe conditions of the construction site.
• Coordinate the preparation of contract submittals such as quality control plans and safety plans.
• Prepare and track the progress of Requests for Information.
• Inspect and document site environmental protection measures and construction progress.
• Provide input to senior management regarding project status.
• Act as quality control and assurance to ensure project objectives are met.
• Ensure compliance with construction safety rules and regulations.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and budgets.
• Assist with the preparation and review of project submittals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 preferred.
• Construction Quality Control certification preferred.
• Safety Trained Supervisor certification preferred.
