About the position

The Senior Project Manager (Acquisition & Development) at CommonBond Communities is responsible for managing multiple real estate development projects, ensuring they align with the organization's mission of providing affordable housing. This role involves overseeing project feasibility, financial structuring, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including community members and public agencies. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while maintaining a focus on the organization's core values of respect, integrity, partnership, innovation, and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the A&D business development plan.
  • Maintain tracking of business opportunities and report to the A&D team monthly.
  • Identify members of the development team and negotiate contracts with them.
  • Research and define project scope for multifamily new construction and acquisition opportunities.
  • Determine project financial feasibility in consultation with the Real Estate team.
  • Secure interest from potential financing sources for projects.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders and prepare presentations for various boards.
  • Negotiate project acquisition agreements and secure financing for projects.
  • Manage all aspects of project construction, including contract negotiations and change order management.
  • Establish and manage project budgets and cash flow projections.
  • Lead interdepartmental planning for property management and project transition plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for housing projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, urban planning, political science, business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of real estate development experience, preferably in affordable multi-family development.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement municipal, state, and federal program requirements.
  • Understanding of real estate finance and development concepts.
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple long-term projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Nice-to-haves
