About the position

The Senior Project Manager at Austin Industrial is responsible for overseeing construction projects, ensuring compliance with contracts, managing budgets, and leading project teams to achieve safety and quality standards. This role involves contract administration, cost management, scheduling, quality assurance, and fostering relationships with clients and subcontractors. The Senior Project Manager plays a crucial role in delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Read and ensure compliance with the prime contract and reporting obligations.
  • Hold customers, subcontractors, and vendors accountable to performance agreements.
  • Develop a plan for proper allocation of materials and resources.
  • Setup and manage document control systems including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Review submittals for coordination and adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Lead progress, planning, and safety meetings.
  • Manage mobilization activities on the project site.
  • Perform detailed reviews of subcontractor bids and issue agreements post-negotiation.
  • Administer project completion tasks including closeout documentation and final payments.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor pay applications and approve invoices.
  • Monitor subcontractors for adherence to performance obligations and notify as required.
  • Prepare and submit customer pay requests in a timely manner.
  • Distribute change requests for pricing and schedule impact.
  • Provide preconstruction services to assist customers in project evaluation.
  • Analyze and manage budget and quantity updates for job cost reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate daily time and quantity reporting.
  • Develop methods for increasing efficiency and profitability on the project.
  • Review productivity reports and ensure management is updated on costs and schedule attainment.
  • Manage the change order process and ensure all change orders are included in job cost.
  • Establish and maintain job cost reporting in accordance with company policy.
  • Review Labor Cost Reports with the superintendent regularly.
  • Manage the efficient use of the company's equipment fleet.
  • Ensure project completion within contract requirements and develop project schedules.
  • Review and approve project quality plans and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections and quality reviews.
  • Provide leadership to promote safety, quality, teamwork, and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain trust with customers, owners, and engineers.
  • Lead the project team to achieve safety performance objectives and instill a safe work culture.
  • Review and approve project safety plans and perform safety observations.

Requirements

  • Four year Undergraduate Degree in a technical discipline.
  • PMP certified or able to achieve certification within 1 year.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, mathematics, communication skills, and technical writing.
  • Understanding of engineering or construction principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to forecast costs for self-performed work and determine resource needs.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and municipal laws related to construction.
  • Management competency in Lump Sum, Unit Price, Time & Material projects.
