The Senior Project Manager for Commercial Inside Sales at Builders FirstSource is responsible for the general supervision of the commercial department, overseeing various systems projects that are highly complex in nature. This role involves assembling a project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying the appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure the timely completion of projects. The Senior Project Manager will provide overall project management oversight and direction to the team, ensuring the success of large, multi-platform initiatives by developing appropriate project implementation plans that include scope, goals, scheduling, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with management. In this position, the Senior Project Manager will estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, determining the need for additional staff or consultants, and making appropriate requests for additional personnel. The role requires planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools. The Senior Project Manager will also develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations, determining the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzing results, and troubleshooting problem areas. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Senior Project Manager will work to develop and execute a communication strategy that includes stakeholder analysis, ongoing communications, and adoption plans. Negotiation with department managers may be necessary to ensure project continuity through completion. The Senior Project Manager will seek opportunities to improve productivity, cost containment, and overall project performance, managing relationships across the organization and divisions to align projects with overall business objectives. Conducting quality assurance audits in support of the project quality plan, including post-mortem assessments, will also be part of the responsibilities, along with understanding and observing all safety procedures to prevent injury to self or co-workers.
