About the position

As a Senior Project Manager in the Construction Civil Engineering sector at WSB, you will play a pivotal role in our Construction Services/Design Build Group, specifically within our Contract Administration team. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about managing and delivering successful construction projects across various governmental levels, including Federal, State, County, and City contracts. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from procurement to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with the established plans and specifications. In this role, you will lead a diverse team of lab, office, and field staff, providing project management and administrative oversight. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing project schedules, conducting field visits to ensure compliance, and maintaining thorough documentation throughout the project. You will also be involved in the proposal development process, contributing to the growth of WSB by identifying new business opportunities and fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Your expertise in State and Federal Contract Administration processes will be crucial as you oversee record-keeping and inspection activities, ensuring that pay estimates and project documentation are accurately prepared. You will have the opportunity to work on various project delivery methods, including Design Build, CM/GC, ID/IQ, and conventional Bid/Build projects, allowing you to leverage your skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and contract administration, with a focus on roadway and bridge construction. You will be expected to read and interpret contracts, plans, and special provisions, and have a functional understanding of project management software. Your ability to coordinate effectively with clients and ensure that their needs are met will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management, oversight, and administration on various Federal, State, County, and City construction projects and contracts.
  • Develop, manage, and lead a team of lab, office, and field staff.
  • Perform field visits and coordinate with project staff to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Oversee record keeping, inspection, and lab personnel who prepare pay estimates and project documentation.
  • Assist in the proposal development process to grow business opportunities for WSB.
  • Perform contract administration duties including plan development, budget management, and schedule management.
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure their needs are met and deliverables are executed at a high level.
  • Track and manage contract budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed in the State of Texas.
  • Eight or more years of experience in construction and contract administration practices.
  • Knowledge of material properties, TxDOT specifications, and prior design/build experience.
  • Experience with Field Ops and One Office program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with various project delivery methods including Design Build, CM/GC, ID/IQ, and conventional Bid/Build projects.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and project management software.
