About the position

The Senior Project Manager / Facility Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing key construction projects for the Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier Headquarters (HQ) at Fort Belvoir, VA. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in overseeing the entire scope of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all aspects are executed efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the physical and financial closeout of projects, which includes procurement, estimates, and work site supervision. The role demands a thorough understanding of construction processes, as the individual will be tasked with completing quantity take-offs, finalizing pricing, and preparing budget and estimate deliverables for clients. In addition to project management duties, the Senior Project Manager will serve as the owner representative, actively participating in project review meetings with clients to discuss project scope, budgeting, and zoning requirements. The position requires a strong focus on meeting critical time and budget constraints, necessitating excellent organizational and communication skills. The candidate will also manage the subcontractor hiring process, schedule and supervise subcontractors, and ensure that quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves planning, scheduling, and managing projects that include new builds, renovations, and maintenance of US government buildings and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to delivering superior customer service and will be adept at collaborating across various employee levels to achieve project goals. This position is critical to the success of the PEO Soldier HQ programs and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage entire scope of key construction projects through physical and financial closeout, including procurement, estimates, and work site supervision.
  • Complete quantity take-offs, finalize pricing, and prepare budget/estimate deliverables for clients.
  • Develop project plans and schedules and track and report project status to clients.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Serve as owner representative and actively participate in project review meetings with clients to discuss project scope, budgeting, and zoning.
  • Responsible for meeting critical time and budget requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor hiring process, schedule and supervise subcontractors, and ensure quality.
  • Deliver superior customer service and effectively collaborate across employee levels to meet goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage projects involving new build, renovation, and maintenance of US government buildings and facilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • More than 12 years of relevant experience in project management or facility engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Projects.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
