About the position
The Senior Project Manager role is focused on overseeing complex projects within the financial services and banking industry, particularly those related to compliance, BSA, AML, and regulatory requirements. This position requires extensive experience in project management methodologies and the ability to lead large-scale programs that involve multiple stakeholders and third-party vendors. The role emphasizes strategic thinking and effective communication to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large cross-enterprise programs/projects within the financial services sector.
- Oversee programs/projects involving third-party vendors to ensure compliance and regulatory standards are met.
- Apply the RBC Program Management Framework to develop and manage project plans and schedules.
- Utilize Agile, waterfall, and iterative methodologies for project execution and management.
- Gather, analyze, and report on project metrics, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through written and oral presentations.
- Demonstrate leadership and people management skills to guide project teams and ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive project-related experience in financial services and project management.
- Expert knowledge of program and project plan development & management, including scheduling methodologies.
- Advanced project management knowledge, including risk and issue assessment methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
- Experience delivering multi-year, complex programs with high levels of value and complexity.
Nice-to-haves
- Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g. business, finance).
- PMP and/or PgMP certification or equivalent.
