About the position

Ameriprise Financial is seeking an experienced HR Project Manager to join our project management office (PMO) team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering medium to large scope, cross-functional business projects, implementing various program management capabilities, and leading project teams to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of medium to large scope project initiatives that involve obtaining agreement/adoption of project objectives and deliverables by key sponsors.
  • Define the overall objectives and key deliverables for the project; identify and track key measures of success.
  • Ensure that a project plan is developed and maintained to track accountabilities, timelines, deliverables, and progress toward completion on time and within budget.
  • Utilize company/industry project management methodologies and tools throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage business projects within the company's project delivery framework and system.
  • Impact management, program communications, performance measurement, knowledge management, resource management, project integration, project tracking, and change management.
  • Accountable for project change management, communications, identification of issues/risks, and escalation of critical issues to project sponsors.
  • Provide regular status reporting on plan progress, as defined by company standards and industry methodologies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Industry-standard project management methodologies and tools
  • Demonstrated capability in standard office and project management applications - Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Project Workbench
  • Demonstrated experience in leading medium- to large-scale projects to successful completion and implementation
  • Effective at building relationships; highly effective communication skills that include the ability to articulate information to a broad audience
  • Ability to identify and develop mitigation alternatives to issues or risks associated with assigned projects.
