About the position

The Senior Project Manager at Archer Daniels Midland Company in Decatur, IL is responsible for leading project initiatives, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring project delivery according to established guidelines. This role involves overseeing a team of engineers, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with local legislation and company policies. The position requires a strong background in project management and technical fields, with a focus on safety, quality, and budget management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business areas and key stakeholders to manage project expectations and gain consensus for implementations.
  • Define project scope and plan for delivery according to roles and responsibility matrix.
  • Execute projects, including costing and implementation according to FEL guidelines.
  • Monitor project results, including budget and quality, and assure monthly reporting to partners.
  • Keep track and communicate change orders, advising stakeholders when contingency needs to be used.
  • Comply with local legislation and ADM requirements, including safety legislation and permits.
  • Support and drive contractor safety, ensuring reliability of existing equipment during project implementation.
  • Coordinate the development of necessary documentation for commissioning, training, and maintenance.
  • Provide direction to contractors and work with procurement and accounting teams on project needs and budget.
  • Set up project structure and steering committee according to governance guidelines.
  • Close out projects according to FEL5 requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field, preferably in project management engineering.
  • PMI certification preferred.
  • Experience with moderate and high complexity projects.
  • Ability to work with EPCM companies.
  • Experience executing multi-year projects.
  • Expert knowledge of ADM AFE Policy and CAPEX.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Maximo, Wave, SAP, and SpheraCloud.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera, and SharePoint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cost engineering, planning, scheduling, and commissioning.
