About the position

As a Senior Project Manager in Industrial Construction at JLL, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of real estate through effective project management and client engagement. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships with clients and team members. You will be responsible for overseeing the execution of various construction projects, ensuring they align with client objectives and JLL's strategic goals. Your role will involve collaborating with internal teams, managing project schedules, and maintaining high standards of quality control throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, you will cultivate relationships with key client representatives and market JLL's services to potential clients. You will act as the lead relationship manager for strategic alliance clients, assisting them in developing real estate strategies that align with their business objectives. Your responsibilities will include supervising and mentoring junior project managers and associates, fostering an ethical and inclusive work environment, and contributing to the overall strategy of the business unit. You will also be tasked with managing project execution, including the preparation of proposals, risk management, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) practices. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be crucial as you lead project calls, manage stakeholder expectations, and document project progress. Additionally, you will be involved in business development initiatives, networking with industry peers, and pursuing new business opportunities to expand JLL's client base.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate positive relations with project managers and associates assigned to the team.
  • Market the company's services to potential clients and maintain favorable impressions.
  • Lead relationship management for strategic alliance clients and assist in developing real estate strategies.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate project managers, assistant project managers, and project coordinators.
  • Manage relationships with clients and supplier partners, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
  • Generate and manage project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Lead internal meetings and prepare project review documentation.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff members, providing guidance on project execution and best practices.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing clients.

Requirements

  • At least 6-8 years of experience in construction, with a minimum of 4 years in industrial construction.
  • Proficient understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and technically proficient style.
  • Experience in managing project schedules and budgets, with a focus on quality control and risk management.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior team members, fostering their professional development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, and distribution projects.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) practices in construction.
  • Knowledge of lease language and financial implications of project decisions.
