About the position

As a Senior Project Manager with CBRE, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating activities within the IT Infrastructure Team for a confidential client. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all project goals and objectives are met within the designated time frames and budget constraints. You will be tasked with directing, observing, documenting, and reporting on various technology projects, ensuring that quality and integrity are maintained in all deliverables. This role requires you to manage multiple projects simultaneously, tracking progress and promptly escalating any issues that arise. In this position, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the client's organization and its technology objectives. You will identify and schedule key project milestones and tasks, assist in defining project objectives and scope, and implement effective project strategies and plans. It is essential to raise any project-related issues, including those concerning timing, budget, resources, and scope, to upper management in a timely manner. Collaboration with the internal technical team on current infrastructure projects will be crucial, as will preparing project status reports and program summaries for management and IT leaders. Adhering to best practices and methodologies in project management will be a fundamental aspect of your role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing large-scale IT, Data Center, Disaster Recovery, or Infrastructure projects, with at least 10 years of relevant experience. While hands-on experience with IT infrastructure is not mandatory, the ability to ask probing questions to understand and direct the work of subject matter experts is essential. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong change management skills and the ability to influence decision-makers effectively. A conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies, along with strong project management skills, will be critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities within the IT Infrastructure Team.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure quality and integrity in deliverables.
  • Direct multiple projects and track and escalate issues promptly.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the Confidential Client organization and technology objectives.
  • Identify and schedule project work landmarks and required tasks.
  • Assist with defining project objectives, scope, and level of effort.
  • Implement project strategies and plans, identifying necessary approaches and tools.
  • Raise project issues including timing, budget, resources, and scope to upper management.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal technical team on current infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare project status reports and program summaries for management and IT leaders.
  • Adhere to best project management practices and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing large-scale IT, Data Center, Disaster Recovery, or Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in an IT infrastructure environment is mandatory; experience in large-scale organizations is preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify, integrate, and author key project artifacts (charter, RAID, project plan, etc.).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive project teams through competing priorities.
  • Strong change management skills and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of mixed Infrastructure environments.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.
