About the position

The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will oversee mechanical construction projects valued at $10 million or more, focusing on self-performing general contractor work and water/wastewater construction at R.H. White Construction. This role involves comprehensive project management, ensuring adherence to safety policies, effective resource allocation, and maintaining client relationships while managing financial aspects and project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
  • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through regional department heads to achieve optimal resource allocation within budget.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards according to the Pre-Planning Process.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and NE contacts to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interests while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Support all company reporting functions such as weekly reports, timecards, and annual reviews.
  • Protect the company from improper "At-Risk" activities by monitoring adherence to safety procedures.
  • Manage both Design Build and Bid Build projects, overseeing the design process for Design/Build projects.
  • Supervise Project Superintendent and other R.H. White employees and subcontractors assigned to the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years' experience in construction, design, finance, and management, with a focus on mechanical and water/wastewater projects.
  • Working knowledge of structural, mechanical, and electrical civil and building practices and concepts.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions while multi-tasking.
  • Confidence in directing and coordinating staff, sub-contractors, and consultants.
  • Innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of construction software and corporate/industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.).
  • CSL certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire date.
  • OSHA-30 certification (will assist with obtaining).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
