The Senior Project Manager (Non-Technical) will coordinate a project team from inception through completion, executing corporate planning and project management tasks. This role serves as the senior representative for the Project Management Center of Excellence, where the individual will develop new systems, techniques, and procedures for automated planning systems, reporting, issue resolution, risk management, and budget tracking. Regular status information will be provided to all project stakeholders, and the Senior Project Manager will interface with upper management to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, the Senior Project Manager will review plans and schedules of other participating functions for compliance with the master schedule, resolving any scheduling and inter-functional conflicts that may arise. The role involves participating in or leading daily, weekly, or monthly meetings to track and report project status, identifying deviations or adverse trends that could impact project delivery. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will review project business cases to ensure accurate costs and internal labor are identified, ensuring approval of the business case and presenting it to the governing body. The Senior Project Manager will also support internal department training through occasional instructional opportunities and will be responsible for mentoring, supporting, and developing people and processes within the project management office. This role requires the ability to identify key barriers and core problems, applying problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations. The individual will troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, making decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, to produce effective end results. The Senior Project Manager will independently perform assignments with limited instruction, determining and developing approaches to solutions, and will oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. While contributing to employees' professional development, this role does not have hiring or firing authority.
