The Project Manager will coordinate a project team from inception through completion, executing corporate planning and project management tasks. This role serves as a senior representative for the Project Management Center of Excellence, responsible for developing new systems, techniques, and procedures for automated planning systems, reporting, issue resolution, risk management, and budget tracking. The Project Manager will provide regular status updates to all project stakeholders and interface with upper management to ensure alignment and compliance with project goals. In this position, the Project Manager will review plans and schedules of other participating functions to ensure compliance with the master schedule and resolve any scheduling or inter-functional conflicts. The role requires participation in or leadership of daily, weekly, or monthly meetings to track and report project status, identifying any deviations or adverse trends. The Project Manager will also review the project business case to ensure accurate costs and internal labor are identified, ensuring approval of the business case and presenting it to the governing body. Additionally, the Project Manager will support internal department training through occasional instructional opportunities and mentor, support, and develop people and processes within the project management office. The nature of the role involves identifying key barriers and applying problem-solving skills to creatively deal with complex situations. The Project Manager will troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, and independently perform assignments with limited instruction, focusing on expected results. While the role may involve overseeing the completion of projects and assignments, it does not include hiring or firing authority. The work environment is primarily comfortable, with most time spent sitting, and there are opportunities to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles. The position typically requires less than 10% overnight travel.
