About the position

The Senior Project Manager/Technical Lead for Conveyance at Stantec is responsible for leading the planning and engineering design of wastewater-related infrastructure projects. This role involves managing a team of design professionals, mentoring staff, and ensuring the successful execution of complex projects while fostering client relationships and business development. The position emphasizes collaboration across various technical disciplines and offers opportunities for thought leadership in innovative technologies within the water sector.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of design professionals and technicians.
  • Mentor and supervise staff to develop high-performing project teams.
  • Perform business development tasks and collaborate with staff to increase project wins.
  • Participate in business line teams to manage and develop proposals.
  • Act as the client-facing contact for business development, meetings, and presentations.
  • Assist senior engineers/designers with project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule management.
  • Perform complex engineering design tasks on wastewater-related projects.
  • Develop project management plans and establish goals for unique projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with regulatory reviews to seek final project approvals.
  • Oversee proposals including development of scope and level of effort.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience in project management, preferably for conveyance and water infrastructure design projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license within 6 months.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience with the design of conveyance projects in urbanized areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of construction methods such as open-cut and trenchless techniques.
  • Experience with water and storm and sanitary sewer rehabilitation.
