About the position

The Senior Project Manager/Technical Lead for Process Mechanical at Stantec is responsible for overseeing the planning and engineering design of water infrastructure projects, particularly in wastewater management. This role emphasizes collaboration across various technical disciplines and aims to enhance the company's conveyance trenchless condition assessment and rehabilitation business. The successful candidate will lead project teams, manage client relationships, and drive innovative solutions while ensuring project delivery meets budget and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of design professionals and technicians.
  • Mentor and supervise staff to develop high-performing project teams.
  • Perform business development tasks and collaborate with staff to increase project wins.
  • Participate in business line teams to manage and develop proposals.
  • Act as the client-facing contact for business development, meetings, and presentations.
  • Develop scope of work documents and estimates.
  • Collaborate with multiple business lines to develop opportunities.
  • Conduct quality reviews of project deliverables.
  • Assist senior engineers/designers with project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule management.
  • Perform complex engineering design tasks on wastewater-related projects.
  • Develop engineering documents including design basis, calculations, and drawings.
  • Assist with planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure.
  • Lead or support the planning and execution of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
  • Develop project management plans and establish goals for projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with regulatory reviews for project approvals.
  • Manage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Research regulatory issues impacting projects.
  • Assist business leaders in project revenue forecasting.
  • Oversee proposals and development of project scope.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience in project management, preferably for process mechanical projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license within 6 months.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding of local and regional jurisdictional codes and design requirements.
  • Broad understanding of municipal engineering, hydraulics, and process mechanical systems design.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; basic understanding of Revit is a plus.
