About the position

The Senior Project Manager - Transit at Kimley-Horn will lead the Transit practice, focusing on business development and client relationship management. This role offers significant autonomy to shape the practice, establish goals, and grow the team while ensuring client satisfaction and project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Create a vision for the Transit practice and facilitate its growth.
  • Lead business development efforts with public agencies and industry contacts.
  • Build and manage relationships with key clients.
  • Provide practice vision, business planning, and strategy.
  • Establish goals and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Communicate openly with partners and team members.
  • Grow the Transit practice with support from a national firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Planning preferred.
  • Professional Certification as a P.E. or AICP preferred.
  • Ten or more years of Transit experience in growing and leading a Transit practice.
  • Experience with extensive client contacts and relationships with local or national clients.
  • Business development and marketing experience, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
  • Strong desire and ability to engage with clients and solve project problems.
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of design principles utilizing Civil3D or Microstation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
