About the position

The Senior Project Manager - Water Resources Engineering at Thomas & Hutton will lead and manage water resources projects, focusing on stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and permitting. This role is crucial for the growth of the water resources department within a multi-discipline engineering office, serving both public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the water resources field and demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple design assignments including proposal development, scope and fee development, and project management.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee and execute watershed studies, stormwater master plans, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
  • Design and inspect traditional and innovative LID infrastructure and SWM BMPs in urban and rural environments.
  • Perform and manage water resource related studies and capital improvement design projects.
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to team members.
  • Monitor project scope and fees during progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer Registration required, preferably in Georgia.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Water Resources field.
  • Experience in Hydrologic & Hydraulic Modeling.
  • Experience in Stormwater Management design.
  • Experience in Green infrastructure design.
  • Experience in Erosion and Sediment Control design.
  • Experience in Contract Document preparation including Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in Georgia & South Carolina.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic software (ICPR4, HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis).
  • Experience in Water quality or TMDL Studies.
