About the position

The Senior Project Manager for Water Resources Engineering will play a pivotal role in overseeing a variety of water and wastewater projects, ensuring that they are executed in accordance with the established scope, schedule, and budget. This position requires a strong technical background in civil engineering, particularly in water resources, and the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining effective communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Department Director on business development initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of the firm. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will act as a technical resource for project teams and will be responsible for leading inter-disciplinary coordination efforts. This includes ensuring that all project designs are executed with the necessary level of detail and that risks are minimized throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Manager will also serve as a client service manager, fostering strong relationships with existing clients and actively seeking to cultivate new client relationships. Additionally, the role involves supporting the Department Director with various operational and business initiatives, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the department. Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical resource for projects and new proposal development.
  • Lead inter-disciplinary coordination, both within and outside the department, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Execute designs with the necessary level of detail, prioritizing risk minimization for the firm.
  • Serve as a client service manager, maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and cultivating new ones.
  • Support the Department Director with department operations and broader business initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university; a Master's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • 10-14 years of experience working with municipal clients, providing planning, consulting, design, and construction services across a range of areas, including water and wastewater planning and design.
  • Proficiency in stormwater design is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proven track record in successful project management, client engagement, and staff development.
  • Experience in business development, including crafting proposals, defining scopes of work, and preparing project budgets.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
