About the position

The Senior Project Manager at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is responsible for developing and overseeing the health of multiple supply chains across various commodities. This role requires a strategic thinker with technical expertise in supply chain development, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure supply chain resilience and optimize operations. The position involves evaluating supplier activities, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with company standards, all while maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the health of multiple supply chains across various commodities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supply chain resilience.
  • Monitor supplier activities and performance metrics for compliance with company standards.
  • Perform site visits of suppliers to evaluate logistical and performance capabilities.
  • Represent the organization as the primary contact with internal business groups and external suppliers.
  • Provide direction and training to staff and make presentations as required.
  • Compile and analyze data to evaluate supplier performance and develop reports.
  • Identify, develop, and select qualified suppliers, resolving related business and technical issues.
  • Recommend changes in policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Thirteen or more years of progressively complex experience in project administration, with at least seven years in project management.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in program management principles and practices.
  • Thorough understanding of supplier administration, supply chain, purchasing, and material management practices.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop innovative solutions.
