About the position

The Senior Project Manager (Senior PM) at Advanced Clinical is responsible for overseeing complex clinical studies and managing clinical research staff and vendors. This role requires effective leadership and communication skills to ensure project deliverables are met while maintaining compliance with industry standards. The Senior PM will work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects, serving as the primary resource for clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support Proposals & Business Development to secure new business, including reviewing and providing input to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and presenting at bid defense meetings.
  • Manage complex, high-profile programs or protocols based on dollar value, project scope, and therapeutic area.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in specific therapeutic areas or indications.
  • Coordinate and manage clinical trials from start-up to closeout within contractual timelines.
  • Oversee project-specific financial management, including contract adherence and budget management.
  • Provide study-specific training for clinical research staff.
  • Delegate study work to Project Management Associates or other team members as applicable.
  • Evaluate and communicate resourcing needs to functional area management.
  • Generate detailed study-specific Project Plans (PP) and ensure inclusion of functional plans.
  • Track and analyze critical project information and metrics, including timeline management and project forecasts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the study team and the client.
  • Escalate significant issues to appropriate leadership.
  • Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in SOP review and revisions.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) through training and early issue identification.
  • Collaborate with functional areas to identify and evaluate project issues and implement timely solutions.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and contingency plans for clinical deliverables.
  • Lead and participate in team, client, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Provide oversight and mentoring for less experienced project managers and associates.
  • Oversee overall project performance, including deliverables, study finances, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • PMP certification or membership in Project Management or Clinical Research organizations (e.g., ACRP/ICR/SCRA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in clinical research; at least 7 years of clinical research experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and independently without significant oversight; flexibility in work hours and ability to travel.
  • Fluency in English; must possess or be able to obtain a current passport or identity card as applicable.
