About the position

The Senior Project Manager at Big Top Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the completion of various custom shelter projects. This role ensures timely execution and customer satisfaction while working in a fast-paced environment. The position involves supervising the project management team, fostering a collaborative work environment, and providing guidance and mentorship to team members. The Senior Project Manager will report to the Installation & Special Project Manager and will be involved in contract negotiations and project planning.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, organize, and oversee activities regarding the completion of various shelter projects.
  • Schedule and coordinate projects in logical steps and budget the time necessary to meet each deadline.
  • Regularly communicate with sales, internal stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and customers concerning project progress and estimated completion date.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, revisions, and additions alongside Sales; confirm contract adherence by all parties.
  • Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to discuss and resolve problems, including installation or design issues.
  • Identify potential obstacles to project completion timeline and take appropriate actions to mitigate delays.
  • Provide training and support for new hires to help them understand their roles and responsibilities; identify opportunities for skill development and growth for existing team members; provide feedback, coaching, and ongoing training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field required.
  • At least five years' experience planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
  • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
