About the position

The Senior Project Manager at Exelon is responsible for managing Information Technology projects that involve cross-functional teams across multiple IT disciplines. This role includes overseeing project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring projects are executed in accordance with IT Management Model and PMI standards. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and manage project performance effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project performance for various IT projects and initiatives.
• Ensure project costs, schedule, and scope are managed effectively, including developing recovery plans.
• Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.
• Communicate project issues and updates to sponsors and key stakeholders, including executive presentations.
• Maintain good working relationships between project teams, internal resources, vendors, and interfacing organizations.
• Coach and lead team members to ensure task completion.
• Identify and obtain necessary project team resources.
• Ensure project team members understand their responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline and 4-7 years of project management experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of relevant experience is acceptable.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects.
• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or ability to achieve CAPM within two years of job entry; PMP certification is acceptable.
• Ability to work independently and as a team leader, managing conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment.
• Strong independent judgment skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• 4-7 years of IT project delivery experience, including system integration and software development.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with leadership, business partners, technical teams, and vendors.
• Strong project management soft skills in facilitation, organization, and coordination.
• Experience with Financial Systems.
