About the position

The Project Manager for Data Center Construction will oversee large-scale projects, particularly focusing on high-voltage systems and data centers with capacities up to 30 megawatts. This role involves managing all phases of project delivery, ensuring successful execution while meeting client expectations and maintaining project quality, budget, and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of data center project management including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk management.
  • Lead the project from initial planning through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client, acting as their representative in all project matters.
  • Work closely with the client to define project scope, understand requirements, and ensure timely procurement of necessary materials.
  • Manage the installation and integration of high-voltage electrical systems for data centers with up to 30MW capacity.
  • Ensure proper coordination of complex electrical systems, including cooling towers, chillers, and advanced HVAC.
  • Work directly with General Contractors (GCs) to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Identify and source appropriate project delivery resources, including the selection and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Implement change management processes to review and approve scope changes, managing any impact on budget, timeline, or quality.
  • Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and timely updates.
  • Facilitate meetings, document progress, and provide written reports and meeting minutes to ensure alignment.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with both company and client governance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing large-scale data center projects with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with 30MW capacity data centers and advanced HVAC, electrical, and cooling systems.
  • Proven experience working in both Owner's Rep and General Contractor (GC) capacities.
  • Strong understanding of project management best practices, including budget management, procurement, risk assessment, and schedule adherence.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise between clients, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Experience with multi-site data center projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and reporting.
