About the position

The Senior Project Operations Coordinator or Principal Project Operations Coordinator at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) will oversee the operational aspects of ongoing project work streams at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. This role serves as a liaison between project management, project teams, and line management to ensure efficient execution of work, while maintaining safety and compliance with technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as work stream leader for multiple operational project activities, serving as primary point of contact and liaison for activities within the scope of work stream.
  • Coordinates and completes field walk downs to establish/verify as-is condition prior to project work stream implementation.
  • Contributes to the development of overall project scope including technical requirements, materials, equipment and resources.
  • Maintains a comprehensive awareness of scheduled project work and drives the resources, parts and paperwork to task readiness.
  • Represents the project team in status, integration or other meetings.
  • Comprehends and follows ISMS work steps (Scope, Analyze Hazards, Identify Controls, Perform Work, Feedback).
  • Ensures that work performed is being done according to technical work documents and safety standards.
  • Reviews and modifies documents necessary to expedite work prior to submitting for approval.
  • Serves as the Person In Charge (PIC) over assigned project evolutions when required by procedure.
  • Assists in integrating project schedule activities into the facility scheduling programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and practical experience in operations/maintenance, project or technical area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree
  • Ability to understand and interpret various electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Conceptual understanding of facility processes, systems and equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of site work control procedures and work practices.
  • Knowledge of general or specific safety, environmental, regulatory, safeguards, security, emergency preparedness programs.
  • Knowledge of schedules and schedule integration including support resources required to accomplish tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of Closure Project guidelines related to cost, scope, schedule and risk management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Radiological worker trained.
