About the position
The Senior Planner is responsible for coordinating launch and development activities for a category within a Luxury Cosmetics brand. This role involves managing a portfolio of projects, including new product launches and supply chain design changes, ensuring that all programs are delivered on time and in full (OTIF). The Senior Planner collaborates with cross-functional teams, particularly in Operations and Marketing, to support successful product launches and maintain brand quality.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the new product development process from concept generation to execution, ensuring timing, quantity, and KPI targets are achieved.
- Coordinate all project meetings and drive integration between Operations, R&D, Creative, Marketing, and Sales processes involved in product development and launch.
- Establish and maintain an 18-month new product development calendar in conjunction with the brand and drive the Kick-off briefing process.
- Challenge and reduce development lead-times while ensuring all COGs, quality, and service requirements are met or exceeded.
- Manage the cost process for all launches within the designated category, presenting options that meet cost and aesthetic targets.
- Act as an independent contributor to the launch process and liaison between Operations teams and brands, escalating launch challenges as necessary.
- Ensure all product launches pass Shiseido corporate quality tests.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of project management experience.
- Knowledge of new product development processes and stage gate approach.
- Experience with MS Project or other project management-related software, as well as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to production environments and interaction with packaging, process, and manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
