About the position

The Senior Project Procurement Leader at LEGO in Boston is responsible for leading procurement efforts within the Technology Development organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative technology-enabled toys, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring optimal component choices and manufacturing setups. The position requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex scenarios while considering cost, risk, and environmental impact.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Project Procurement Leader embedded in the Technology Development organization.
  • Collaborate as part of the project team to develop state-of-the-art technology-enabled toys.
  • Act as the primary contact for the project team towards procurement engineering experts and the manufacturing organization.
  • Lead activities with internal project team members and external suppliers to ensure optimal component choices and manufacturing setups.
  • Drive business engagement model decisions with external partners on behalf of the project.
  • Manage supplier relationships, budget, cost negotiations, and drive Statement of Work documents with stakeholders.
  • Ensure a holistic approach to project considerations including cost, total cost of ownership, risk, environmental footprint, manufacturability, and supply chain setup.

Requirements

  • 7+ years relevant working experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and project management.
  • Understanding of engineering and electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Supplier management experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in cost modeling and cost structure.
  • Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) procurement activities.
  • Experience within mechatronics products is an advantage.
  • Availability for late nights and early mornings due to international partners.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
