About the position

The Senior Project Scientist/Geologist/Engineer at Eagle Environmental Consulting is a leadership role that combines technical expertise in environmental consulting with project and personnel management. The position involves overseeing a portfolio of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Be the senior manager on a portfolio of environmental projects.
  • Supervise and mentor project managers and junior staff, and maintain client relationships.
  • Oversee site assessments, remediation design and implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Ensure projects and clients maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Review and analyze environmental data and complete final review of technical reports and budgets.
  • Stay educated on changing regulations within the industry.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and resolutions effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior scientists, geologists, and project staff.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes career development.
  • Prepare proposals and estimates.
  • Support miscellaneous projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, with at least 5 years in a project management role, ideally within the retail petroleum/UST sector.
  • Experience in leading and managing environmental site assessments (Phase I/II), and environmental remediation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of petroleum-related environmental issues, including UST systems, soil and groundwater contamination, and vapor intrusion.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks and experience navigating complex environmental compliance issues.
  • Professional certifications are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to solving challenges.
