About the position

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to coordinate and manage various surveying and mapping projects. This role involves utilizing advanced technologies and methodologies to support the survey team in producing technical mapping and final drawings for agency submissions. The position offers flexibility in work location, allowing candidates to work from any of the California offices or remotely.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and coordinating projects requiring knowledge of surveying and mapping.
• Using various databases to process field data.
• Supporting the survey team by completing technical mapping and final drawings for agency submittals.
• Researching and analyzing title reports, ROW/E, easements, topography, and mapping.
• Reading plans and preparing construction calculations and verification reports.
• Establishing common boundary methods and conducting analysis.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in all phases of surveying with public mapping experience.
• Professional Land Surveyor license in California.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Working knowledge of Trimble Business Center, StarNet, and Carlson is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microstation and Inroads is a plus but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with advanced surveying technologies such as LiDAR.
• Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
