About the position

The Senior Property Accountant at EisnerAmper is responsible for managing the accounting functions for real estate clients, overseeing multi-entity portfolios of commercial and residential properties. This role involves making journal entries, performing reconciliations, and preparing financial statements, while also leading a team of accountants. Responsibilities

  • Make appropriate journal entries to record mortgage, payroll, utilities, management fees, property insurance, and property taxes.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for operating, security deposit, and escrow accounts.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews, accrual accounting, and GL reclasses.
  • Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and in-depth reviews of the income statement.
  • Conduct actual-to-budget variance analysis and management fee calculations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statement packages for ownership, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting for lender compliance requirements.
  • Act as a liaison to external auditors, providing necessary data and answering questions for timely audits.
  • Submit wires, ACHs, and internal bank transfers.
  • Develop and upload budgets, maintain job costing schedules, and prepare construction draw packages.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of lease accounting and CAM escalation schedules.
  • Manage task management and workpapers in FloQast.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in real estate managing multiple property entities (commercial, residential, and new construction).
  • Experience with RealPage is required.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct and/or Yardi.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with task management and workpaper system FloQast.
  • Experience with Appfolio and/or Avid Exchange.
