About the position

At Relativity Space, we are on a mission to revolutionize the aerospace industry with our innovative approach to manufacturing and design. As a Senior Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the scaling and optimization of our Aeon-R combustion device manufacturing processes, as well as the development of manufacturing processes for the Terran-R vehicle. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and initiative, as you will be responsible for owning the manufacturing trades and developing the processes necessary for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical Aeon-R hardware and subassemblies. You will serve as the main point-of-contact between the manufacturing and design teams, ensuring that the Aeon-R architecture is optimized while scaling manufacturing operations. Your ability to thrive in a startup environment and drive your own projects to completion will be essential for success in this role. You will be expected to work collaboratively with design engineers to ensure that hardware meets all aspects of the intended design, focusing on manufacturability and continuous improvement in quality. Additionally, you will develop processes and procedures for post-processing of 3D printed parts and recommend design adaptations to enhance reliability and throughput. The Manufacturing team at Relativity Space is engaged in a variety of responsibilities, from determining the most efficient factory floor layout to developing and implementing complex tooling and processes. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple teams, supporting Relativity's first-of-its-kind 3D printing software and robotics technology. This role is not just about engineering; it's about shaping the future of aerospace technology and contributing to humanity's industrial base on Mars. Join us in this extraordinary journey as we transform our vision into reality.
