About the position

The Senior Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer for Nozzle Assembly at Relativity Space is responsible for the development and production of the Aeon-R Nozzle hardware and its manufacturing processes for the Terran-R vehicle. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and accountability, focusing on manufacturability and integration while serving as the primary liaison between production and design teams. The engineer will ensure that the manufactured hardware meets all design specifications and will tackle unique challenges associated with specialized manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and production of the Aeon-R Nozzle hardware and manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between production and design teams.
  • Develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering nozzle hardware to the Terran R Vehicle.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware non-conformances.
  • Drive failure investigation efforts and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide design feedback on new hardware iterations and develop new manufacturing methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of direct experience working with nozzle assemblies or related hardware.
  • Ability to effectively investigate and resolve hardware non-conformances.
  • Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures, including tolerance stack-up analysis and structural proof testing.
  • Experience with Tooling design, including conceptualization, modeling, and drafting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct experience manufacturing Thrust Chamber Assembly hardware.
  • Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing technologies and DFM related to these processes.
  • Experience with process development, process qualification, and evaluation methods (NDE).
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results in complex manufacturing development projects.
