About the position

At Relativity Space, we are on a mission to revolutionize the aerospace industry and pave the way for humanity's future on Mars. As a Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of fluid systems that are essential for the reliable and efficient operation of our Terran R vehicles. This position is not just about engineering; it's about being part of a visionary team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation in aerospace. You will be working closely with the Stage Fluids team, which is responsible for all fluid systems between the engine and the ground connection, ensuring that our rockets can successfully venture into space. In this role, you will conduct trade studies to develop architectures and designs that meet system requirements, size components at both the system and component levels, and perform detailed fluid and thermal analyses. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you predict and characterize system performance using various methods, including 1D steady-state and transient fluid networks. You will also have the opportunity to create tools that enhance our team's analysis capabilities and streamline workflows, participate in design and manufacturing reviews, and lead test campaigns to validate system designs and performance. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations. You will be expected to lead your own projects to completion while being flexible to changes in strategic direction. As a technical authority for one or multiple fluid systems on the launch vehicle, you will have a significant influence on our fast-growing startup and contribute to the rapid progress of our innovative projects. Your work will directly impact mission-critical systems and processes, making this an exciting opportunity for those who are passionate about aerospace technology and eager to make a difference.
