About the position

As a Provider Compensation Analyst at Banner Health, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare compensation strategies. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the development of innovative provider compensation solutions that align with the organization's long-term strategic goals. The Provider Compensation department utilizes independent external market data to evaluate and advise on provider compensation, ensuring that Banner Health can effectively recruit, engage, and retain top-tier healthcare providers. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from any Banner-approved state, with a standard Monday to Friday schedule consisting of five 8-hour days based around Arizona hours. In this position, you will gain valuable insights into the niche specialty of physician compensation, healthcare clinical financial operations, and the administration of HR systems. Your responsibilities will include financial modeling of physician compensation, ensuring compliance through thorough documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to foster productive working relationships. You will be part of a dynamic team that emphasizes analytical support for various department-related projects and ongoing processes. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive research and analysis related to compensation, providing general support to HR partners and facility leaders, and assisting department staff with data-driven insights. You will serve as a resource for leaders and HR partners, performing regular analyses of compensation programs and practices, identifying areas of concern, and recommending effective solutions. This position is integral to the success of compensation-related projects and initiatives, requiring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in data management and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general compensation support and assistance to leaders, HR partners, and team members.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of compensation programs and practices, interpreting data to understand facility needs.
  • Compile data and summarize results for documentation and presentations, making recommendations for tracking methods.
  • Locate and organize market data, applying statistical analysis tools to present research findings and recommendations.
  • Analyze data to prepare reports, monitoring the effectiveness of pay programs and identifying trends and inconsistencies.
  • Perform data maintenance and audits to ensure accurate storage and streamline department processes.
  • Interface with compensation team members and other departments for compensation research and data sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
  • Strong spreadsheet and relational database skills, with the ability to run queries and analyze complex data sets.
  • Four years of experience in human resources, finance/accounting, or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends using graphic illustration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to follow-through with established deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Compensation experience preferred.
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
