About the position

The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County is seeking a Senior Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor. This position is responsible for certifying clients, identifying nutrition risks, and providing nutrition assessments and counseling to clients in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The incumbent will also oversee clinic operations in the absence of the supervisor and provide education sessions for clients. A valid Florida License to practice dietetics is required.

Responsibilities

• Certifies clients and identifies nutrition risks based on assessments.
• Assigns food packages based on nutrition assessment and program criteria.
• Provides breastfeeding education, support, and referrals.
• Collects anthropometric data and performs hemoglobin assessments.
• Develops and implements nutrition care plans based on assessments.
• Provides WIC nutrition assessments and counseling.
• Assists in assuring proper clinic operations and performs supervisory functions when needed.
• Provides individual and group education sessions.
• Submits reports within assigned timeframes.
• Travels to clinics and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or Home Economics with emphasis in Nutrition.
• Valid State of Florida License as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
• Valid Florida Drivers' License.
